Charity

Freemasonry is a charitable organisation.

We are committed to providing relief through our charitable work in local communities. Over time Union Lodge has raised funds that go towards several areas including poverty alleviation, homelessness, disabilities, children's homes and more.

2015     $10,724.00

2016     $14,069.24

2017     $9,663.60

2018

Beneficiaries included the Child Care Board, Farrs Children's Home, Barbados Homeless and Vagrants Society, E. Bertie Graham Children's Development Centre, the Barbados Cancer Society, Caribbean Dyslexia Association, Barbados Council for the Disabled, and to assist Brethren in financial distress.

In May of 2018 we instituted the first of our 'Daily Dollar' Initiatives whereby we encourage members to give any spare change, at least a dollar a day, towards the charity fund.

Speaking internationally — In 2017 Freemasons in the United Kingdom sent £200,000 in aid after a hurricane decimated Dominica and parts of Antigua & Barbuda.

We will continue to support local initiatives and provide relief in times of disaster well into the foreseeable future.

"Relief" or "Charity"

is one of the three pillars of the Fraternity.
