"A peculiar system of morality,

veiled in allegory,

illustrated by symbols."

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is a peculiar system of morality based upon the Medieval trade guilds of Western Europe and brought down through the ages by learned men of all kinds. The working tools of the ancient Masons are applied symbolically to modern life so as to produce men of good standing, moral and upright, square and level in all their work.

Above all — Freemasonry is made up of men, and men are fallible. We do not expect perfection, but we hope to attain the moral rectitude which makes good men better.

Freemasonry requires a belief in a Supreme Being. This is always left in the conscience of each Man, which is above question.

The true meaning of Masonry is within the Mind of each Man, as far as he would care to take it and apply it to himself. There are no Dogmas or Creeds, save those which a Man holds dear unto himself.

Our goals are to make good men better; to strengthen communities; to contribute to the moral fabric of our Nations, and to leave a positive impact for others to carry the torch after we are gone.

Basic Qualifications For Membership

There are certain qualifications that a man must meet before being considered for membership into the Fraternity.

Man Over 21 Years Of Age

Belief In A Supreme Being

Good Character

Own Free Choice

To be one, ask one.

Freemasonry is open to men of all creeds, race, or class, who are interested in bettering themselves and their communities.

The Fraternity does not solicit for membership. It is not an evangelistic organisation — to become a member, one must seek and make all necessary steps along the way. We always emphasise the Free Will of all men and therefore a man must seek admission without compulsion of any kind.

The man who seeks admission into the Fraternity must express that desire to a member, who will take care of the rest.

He must be recommended in open Lodge, then he will be interviewed and investigated. His petition must then be passed by secret ballot, after which he will receive a date for Initiation. This process generally takes several months, at the least.

If you are interested in learning more, speak to a Mason friend, Contact the Lodge to set up a meeting, or come to an open social event!
